Gujarat Chief Minister lays stone of Rs.20-cr development works for phase-1 at Shivrajpur Beach in Dwarka district

Gandhinagar: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani today performed groundbreaking cere-mony of Rs.20-crore phase-1 of tourists’ facilities to be provided at the iconic Shivrajpur ‘Blue Flag’ Beach in Dwarka district. He unveiled the plaque and inspected the model of the Rs.100-crore project.

Speaking for the occasion, he said the Shivrajpur will be developed at Rs.80-crore in phase-2 as per international standard at total cost of Rs.100-crore. It is planned to be having more facilities than Goa.

Ever since tourism has been accorded the status of service sector, he said that Shivrajpur’s importance increased further for sustainable development, creating job opportunities for lo-cal youth, giving a boost to entire Gujarat’s economy.

He said that several big projects have been launched at the hands of Prime Minister Na-rendra Modi, such as Renewable Energy Park, Desalination Plants, Seaplane Service, Ro-Paxferry Service, first AIIMS in Gujarat, Metro Train, various drinking water projects.

Mr. Rupani said that Gujarat is endowed with rich natural, cultural and geographical features andas per new Tourism Policy emphasis has been laid on multipronged tourism, caravan tourism, medical tourism, wellness tourism, adventure tourism, wildlife tourism, coastal and cruise tourism, religious tourism, spiritual tourism, rural based expeditions and MICE tourism.

He said that Gujarat continued to develop even during pandemic coronavirus, having launched development projects worth Rs.27,000-crore, emerged as Best destination of In-vestment, having attracted 52 per cent of the country’s total Foreign Direct Investment.

Tourism and Fisheries Minister JawharbhaiChavda said that Shivrajpur Beach was ac-corded the status of ‘Blue Flag’ Beach. The State Government will pay 20 percent subsidy for hotels in tourist places, and will also appoint tour operators, tourist guides, guides for hotels and resorts, and pay them monthly salary of maximum Rs.4,000 for six months. It will have cycle track, pathway, parking, arrival plaza, toilet blocks.

Member of Parliament Poonamben Madam thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Vijay Rupani for developing Shivrajpur Beach.

Chief Minister presented the Gujarat Tourism Award-2020 to Devbhoomi Dwarka and the Best Beach Tourism Award to Shivrajpur to Collector Narendra Kumar Meena. Tourism Department MD Jenu Devan spoke on the occasion.

Those present on the occasion included Minister of State VasanbhaiAhir, Rural Housing Board Chairman MulubhaiBera, former MLA PrabubhaManek, BJP district president KhimbhaiJogal, Tourism Secretary Mamta Verma, former District Panchayat President P. S. Jadeja, DIG Sandip Singh, DDO D.J. Jadeja, District SP Sunil Joshi, Additional Resident Collector Jani, officers, employees and people.
